Phew! Thanks for bearing with me, y’all! Now that my site’s up and running again (*ahem* 3 days later…), I’ll share a delicious treat with you! A delicious Oreo-studded treat! Yeah, I’ll admit it. I’m an Oreo-holic. Most times, I’ll pick up a package of Oreos with the hopes of using them in some brilliant baked treat, but they never make it to the oven. I can’t resist. I’ll eat every last one of them before even getting anywhere close to baking with them. It’s a sickness.
I’ve seen these cookies floating around lately and have been meaning to try them for weeks now but….well, you know my situation (see above). Finally, I gathered up enough will power to resist eating them long enough to bake these amazing cookies. OMG, I’m in love! I used my beloved King Arthur Flour drop cookies recipe and simply stirred in a hearty amount of chopped Oreos….you MUST make these. Chewy like a sugar cookie, but filled with crunchy bits of Oreos- these are heavenly. I can’t wait to make them again. If I can keep my hands off the Oreos long enough……
Cookies and Cream Cookies
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups Oreos, chopped
Preheat the oven to 350Β°F. Lightly grease two baking sheets, or line with parchment. Beat together the butter, sugars, salt, vanilla, baking soda, and baking powder until well combined. Add the egg, beating until smooth. Scrape the sides of the bowl, and beat again until smooth.
Add the flour, mixing it in completely.Β Stir in the milk, then carefully stir in the Oreos.
Drop the cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. A cookie scoop works well here.
Bake the cookies for 11 to 15 minutes, until theyβre a light golden brown, and a bit darker around the edges.
Remove from the oven, and cool right on the baking sheets.

You and my husband would really get along. He is quite the Oreo-holic and I know he would love these. They look super delicious.

Your cookies always look beautiful. A while back I made some oreo cheesecake cookies that you would love. The general idea is similar but you add some cream cheese into the batter.

A cookie inside another cookie!?!? You have become my best friend for life. I have some mint oreos at home that I’ve been saving for milkshakes. I think they need to be in this recipe instead!

These cookies look beautiful! I wish I still had Oreos lying around, but I used them all up making your cookies & cream popcorn (WHICH WAS DELICIOUS. Not to yell. But it was). I love your recipes!

I’m the worlds worst baker, but I’m going to try to make these for a party because … well … who wouldn’t at least try to enjoy these treats?! How many cookies does this recipe make?

I have the same problem with Oreos. They never last, if I have one I have the whole package! These cookies look fabulous. I might try them this weekend but if they are as good as you say, I will eat all of them too. Is that better or worst than the whole package of Oreos?

lol sorry but I don’t understand why I would bother to bake my own cookies if I’m only going to add store bought cookies to the recipe. Completely defeats the purpose, if you ask me. Wouldn’t I be better off just eating store bought cookies? But they do look delicious nonetheless.

Then by all means, feel free not to make them. You’ll be missing out, though. I suppose you could make your own homemade Oreos, only to crush them up and add them to more cookie dough, but then I’d most likely have to call you a food snob. π

I made these a few weeks ago, and LOVED the idea, but didn’t end up loving the sugar cookie recipe I used – it was too cake-y. I’ll have to retry with this one!!

I so should not have made these! They’re awesome and not on the diet π
We had a few leftover berry oreos (the ones with pink icing) so I crushed those and used them, and added in some chocolate chips.
Dangerous. Thanks for sharing!

I just made a batch of these using mint creme oreos! I left out the extra tblsp of granulated sugar, refrigerated the dough overnight, used parchment paper (normally I use foil), and they turned out PERFECT! Fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness! π

Hi. Thank you for your reply to my last question. This recipe looks divine but I want to make sure I have the right ingredients. When it comes to using butter when it is not specified as being unsalted butter should we assume it is salted butter we use?
