I absolutely love it when food bloggers post pictures of their kitchens on their blogs- I love to see other people’s kitchens and get an inside look at where it all happens! It’s so much fun to see personalities come to life through that person’s kitchen style; the way they decorate, what colors they love, what kind of gadgets they like to use, what cookbooks they display, etc. So I decided that after 2 years of food blogging, it was about time you all got to see where it all happens! So……welcome to my kitchen!
Looking in from the entrance to the dining room. The kitchen is right off of the dining room and a lot of the time I end up using the tables as extra counter space or a cookie/cake cooling station.
I love this shelf! This is where I keep all my Fiestaware plates and bowls- and lots of other colorful odds and ends!
This is the dining room. We don’t have a breakfast area, really; just one big area with two small sections (sort of). This is the table I take all my pictures on, and it’s my great-grandmother’s furniture- it’s been in the family a long time!
Close-up of the dining room table. I just painted it- it used to be black and white striped (which you’ve probably noticed in all of my old pictures- there were always stripes in the background!)
The “breakfast area”- sort of. Basically just the other half of the dining room. The kitchen is just off to the left there.
And here we are, finally- the kitchen!
My favorite picture in the house!
The American Woman’s cookbook (the green one) is the first cookbook my great-grandmother bought as a 19 year-old bride over 80 years ago. And in the background is my new apron (the pink one) that hubby gave me for my birthday last week!
The smallest pantry known to man…*sigh*
Looking into the living room from the dining room
And of course, my kitchen wouldn’t be nearly as happy and full of love if these two characters weren’t in it!
So there you have it- my cozy little kitchen (…and dining room)! This is where it all happens- the good, the bad and (definitely), the ugly! I really hope you’ve enjoyed the “tour”!
You have SUCH a cute kitchen! I’m jealous of your decorating skills!

I love how much light you get in your house and your little “wine corner” with those hanging wine glasses. I think you’ve also inspired me to move our bakers rack into the kitchen!

I like the lighthearted whimsy of your fiesta ware shelf. Love the pitcher at the top – lemonade(?)-is that what it says? I adore the space you have for your cookbooks, it is marvelous. I hear you about the pantry. I have none in my tiny apartment, so I went and bought cupboards with shelves and doors that close to house all my pantry items. The only room for these shelves is in the spare bedroom. Strange but true. It’s not ideal by any means, but we make it work.

Margo- it does say “Lemonade”; it’s got a little dry erase marker that goes with it and you can write whatever you want on it! In the Fall/Winter I usually write “Apple Cider” on it- so fun!

Adorable kitchen. I’m jealous of your beautiful stove/oven. And those two guys at the bottom aren’t bad either. I know my kitchen wouldn’t be the same without my man, my son, and our dog.

Your kitchen is beautiful, and your colors are great–I would happily sit down in there with a cup of coffee. I love that you have your grandmother’s cookbook. My fave part of your photos is the shelf unit that houses your Fiestaware!

Oh wow, Kelly! That’s so cool! You definitely should use yours- it has some pretty great stuff. Plus, it’s so cool using/making the exact recipes our great grandmothers did so many years ago! 🙂

Amy, I LOVE your kitchen! I’m working on collecting my colorful dishes and accessories so when we finally finish the kitchen I will have the decor covered.
I also have Fiestaware, in Peacock, Scarlett, and Sunflower. I grew up in Newell, WV and my grandfather used to work at Homer Laughlin China putting handles on their mugs – so it was only natural that I would choose Fiestaware for my dishes 🙂 They have a great factory outlet with a massive room for seconds (items they didn’t deem good enough for firsts, but if you have a discerning eye, you can find some nice pieces really cheap) which is where I go when I need to add to my dish collection!
I’m loving your blog, and going to subscribe right after posting this comment!

OMG…I love your kitchen. It’s absolutely adorable and amazing…I think you need take another picture of all your cookbooks! Awesome shelf for it, too. My fave item is that wire frame that says “Merlot” – I love everything with wine!

Thanks so much, Krystal! I actually did take a picture of the cookbooks, I just didn’t want to go overboard with the pictures! 🙂
Michelle- most of my Fiestaware is seconds! My mom, sister and I all go to this giant flea market a few times a year and they sell pretty good seconds there. I got lucky and got a bunch of the Chartreuse color that’s discontinued! Thank you for your sweet compliment!

You have a beautiful kitchen! It makes me want to move out of my tiny apartment immediately and live in a house with a nice space to do my baking 🙂 Your colors are exactly what I want to eventually do with mine- bright and fun! For the mean time.. I’ll be making due with my tiny galley kitchen and pantry that is about 1/3 the size of yours!
